Classes at the Wexford School of Musical Instrument Making cater for all those interested in instrument making, from complete beginners to those with experience in woodwork.


A huge range of stringed instruments can be made, including double basses, fiddles, guitars, electric and acoustic mandolins, carved mandolins and arch top guitars. Classes are restricted to small groups ensuring the student receives sufficient tuition time. All instruments are made from the finest selected tone woods. Students can either create an instrument based on an existing classic model or design their own instrument taking into consideration specific requirements and creative vision.


The workshop is comprehensively equipped with the most up to date hand tools to enable the student to create an instrument to be proud of.
